Seat Equity?

... yeah, I'm calling BS on that one, because truth be told, that's not exactly how it worked out! I'm a little "upset" right now to say the least. Upped our contribution in hopes of the family getting to all be together and nope it didn't f*in happen. But, oh, what's that? Leather skin man and his family who always try to squeeze 6 people in 4 seats only gave $280 for their contribution and guess what? That's right, they with not a toddler to handle among them, will all get to enjoy those wonderful Football Saturdays, together, as a family. I'm a woman scorned!!!

I would like to add that our contribution, lest some of you believe we gave the minimal amount, was almost 10 times Leather Skins!! Do you realize what I could have done with that money!!??!

More for Monday

Hubby and the new "Lady" headed out this evening and won't be seen again until Friday. I'm not jealous this time, as most of his trip will be spent in Detroit, which isn't high on my travel wish list. And that brings me to my More for Monday wish list:
  • I wish for two more hours in every day.
  • I wish children stayed little for just a bit longer--why do they have so few years being sweet babies and so many years having the stresses and worries of school, work, etc? Not fair!
  • I wish for more time in Charleston. It is my all time favorite place to be (with the exception of Clemson on game days!) and I just don't seem to get there enough lately.
  • A lake house would be nice
  • Or a beach house. I would take either.
  • The ability to travel through time.
  • More rain!
  • I wish for a clean car--for longer than a day!
  • I wish for perfect hair everyday.
  • For a photographic memory so all these little moments don't slip away from me as I get older, because truth be told, there is no way at this point I'm going to catch up on all the scrapbooking!!

How'd that happen?

Someone please tell me how it is I'm already due for another birthday?! AHHHH! I mean really, I can only turn 29 so many times! The day of reckoning happens on Saturday. Let's just go ahead and declare it a national holiday and move on!

Our new addition!

Your eyes aren't playing tricks on you that odometer is reading 319,927 miles logged. She served us well! Some of you may wonder what my fascination is with this piece of machinery. For one, she was the first major purchase I'd ever made. I worked hard, saved my money and I signed on the dotted line. I remember how adult-like I felt! Two, as I've said before, she has accompanied Hubby on MANY of his travels. She started as my "Lady", but due to his job and my desire for a particular SUV that Hubby was sweet enough to purchase for me, she quickly became his car that I paid for (and I felt a since of pride in being able to do that for him!). She accompanied us on many pre-wedding events and took us for our very first ride as Husband and Wife. She traveled with us as we enjoyed the freedom of being Newlyweds on weekend getaways and to many a Clemson game. Every other week for the longest time she and Hubby would head to Alabama to call on customers and during one such trip I had to make the call to Hubby that he needed to come home so we could get on the next available flight to see his father one last time before he passed away. Safely, and quickly, she got him home. It was she who was with him the entire day after we found out we were expecting Lovebug. It was she who transported us to many doctor's appointment during said pregnancy. And the list goes on and on. In my heart I know it's crazy to be so sentimental about such a thing, but she has had a supporting role during so many pivotal periods in our lives.

Now Hubby, on the other hand, is just a fair weather friend whose moved on to the newest model---TRAITOR!

Thursday 13

I saw this on another blog and thought I would give it a whirl. Here goes the list of 13 things I L-O-V-E.
13. Ice-cold canned Dr.Pepper. Always have, Always will.
12. Sitting on the beach watching the kiddies play. Of course, I love sitting on the beach with a bunch of girlfriends enjoying a cocktail too, but there is something almost magical about watching your children's faces light up at the beach.
11. Just about anything chocolate.
10. Crisp Fall Football Saturdays--especially when the Tigers start running down that Hill! I've been going to those games since I was probably 3 or 4 years old and I still get chills watching it!
9. Pretty flowers, especially tulips.
8. Pretty papers (aka stationary)
7. Shoes, shoes and more shoes--I probably should seek some sort of therapy for this one. By the way, if you are ever in Georgetown, SC there is the cutest little shoe store, Head over Heels, with the sweetest owner there to help you. I love it!
6. Walhalla Steakhouse Fried Chicken. If you've had it you know what I'm talking about!
5. Good tunes. I can never say what my favorite "type" of music is because it covers so much, but there is nothing better to be in the car or out and hear a song that forever and always reminds you of a time out or period in your life and makes you smile. (Freebird anyone?!)
4. the cold side of the pillow
3. all things monogrammed
2. Laughter--I can never get enough of it.
1. My Hubby and the kiddies. I still pinch myself sometimes and wonder how I got this life.

shout out

Before I forget, I just want to say thank you to cutie Jessica over at http://www.thelovelist.net for the post about the Wife.

Quickie

There was a turn of events last night as my Hubby was making his way to High Point that has the "Lady's" days numbered. As in, she may be gone as soon as the end of the week. Go figure! I think I'm going to shed a tear to see her go!!

I'm back!

I've been slack lately and not posting--SORRY! Things should slow down for the rest of the summer, which I can NOT believe is half way over at this point.

Anyhoo, Hubby and the "Lady" are off again on another adventure. It's been a while since they've been out together. Her touch up has improved her, but her time as part of our lives is still now limited. I've been told that we will be done with her by the end of the summer, but then again I've had a deadline of February. Then mid-April. Then the end of May. See where this is going? It will be a bit odd for me when her time is up considering she entered our lives when we were still just a mere engaged couple. But alas, all good things must come to an end...anyone want to take bets on how long it takes to get rid of her?

Ramblings

So, the "Lady" had all kinds of work done this past weekend/end of last week. Is she good as new? That I don't know. We'll just have to see.

On another note, Hubby, kiddies and I will all be headed to two of my favorite places the end of this week--Pawley's Island and from there to Charleston. I cannot even begin to express how much I love the whole Shag-esque feel of Pawley's Island for the 4th with their parade they have every year and the cookouts and hanging out on the beach (minus all the cutie young ladies who have yet experienced the pleasure of being a buck twenty prior to getting preggo to later bust out not one, but two little beauties that weighed 9 plus pounds! Yes ladies, the stretch marks are a road map of my life!! ). And, Charleston needs no explaination. It has changed so much since I went to college there, but it is still my "happy place". I can already smell the air and hear all the sounds. Hope you all have a Happy 4th!
